I started karting at 9 years old in the Honda
Cadet class, switching to Comer Cadet for my last
Cadet year at age 11.
In 2004 I won many trophies including the
championship trophy at Dunkeswell for 'Top Cadet
Novice'.
In 2005 more trophies were collected including a
1st place, and Championship honours.
In 2006 and 2007 I raced in the Minimax class
for 11 - 17 year olds with a 125cc Rotax Junior
engine with a restrictor fitted.
In 2006 I finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in three
different club championships.
In 2007 I gained one 3rd and one 4th place
championship picking up another win.
I progressed into Junior Rotax at age 13, using
the same Rotax Junior engine but with no restrictor
and for drivers aged 13 - 17.
In 2008 I gained one 4th, one 5th and one 6th in
the championship standings. I was also honoured for
the second year in a row to receive a nomination
for the Shenington Kart Club Lady Driver Of The
Year.
So far this year I have had a 4th and 2nd place
in the Dunkeswell club meetings of February and
March.
After May I decided I would concentrate on my
career in Car Racing and retire from Karting.
Having passed my ARDS test on 28 March 2008 aged
13; I made my car racing debut on 24 May the same
year, at the age of 14 years and 17 days, in the
750 Motor Clubs Saxmax Challenge at Pembrey
Race Circuit in South Wales. I was one of the
youngest drivers to compete in a circuit race and
probably THE youngest female ever.
Saxmax is one of only two junior formulae and is
for 14-17 year olds, run under MSA regulations and
uses largely unmodified Mark 1 Citroen Saxos.
I completed a total of 9 races in the 2008
Saxmax Championship, with my best result being a
5th place at Snetterton at the end of September;
finishing 16th overall in the championship.
For 2009 season I am once again competing in the
Saxmax Championship but have taken a team drive
with Ferguson Motorsport and I hope to finish in
the top half of the championship.
In 2010 I became the youngest competitor to race
in the Volkswagen Cup at 16 and 15 days.
I am under instruction by Clio Cup front runner
Stefan Hodgetts. He is also my mentor at race
weekends, helping me improve every aspect of racing
at all times.
